Lauren Abbitt East Lake High School, Tarpon Springs, FL. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Ian Black. Lauren has served as principal clarinet of the East Lake High School Wind Ensemble, and led the Woodwind Choir to State MPA for the first time in several years. She served as Band President in her senior year. Lauren graduated summa cum laude, and will major in Engineering at the University of Central Florida.

Darlene Abundiz Big Sandy High School, Big Sandy, TX. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Grant Woodson.

James Acevedo Washburn High School, Washburn , North Dakota. Class of 2019. Instrument: Tuba , Director: Dustin Moe.

Mackenzie Adams Kent Island High School, Stevensville, MD. Class of 2019. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Kim Mogensen. Mackenzie has dedicated a significant amount of time at Kent Island High School as a member of several ensembles: Marching Band, Pit Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band. She actively seeks to improve her musicianship by taking double band classes and Music Appreciation. She has established a high bar of leadership and musical excellence for future Kent Island High School generations.

Taylor Akin Washington High School, Washington, OK. Class of 2019. Instrument: Bassoon, Director: Jordan Ford. Three year OKMEA All-State bassoonist, two year OKMEA All-State principal bassoonist. Taylor has also had the opportunity of playing at many different places including, Carnegie Hall, The Jacob's School of Music at Indiana University, Tanglewood Institute at Boston University, and the Advanced Double Reed Institute at Pepperdine University. He has also been featured as a guest performer with the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra, Oklahoma City Symphonic Band, as well as his own Washington High School Band. 

Nura Al-Shumari Star International Academy, Dearborn Heights, MI. Class of 2019. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Amanda Valdez. Nura is a dedicated and talented musician who always takes the time to help make the band better in every way she can. Nura's leadership can be seen daily as she helps to teach and train the next class of percussionists.

Matthew Ashbaugh Mathews High School, Mathews, VA. Class of 2019. Instrument: Tenor Saxophone, Director: Tim Fary Jr. Matthew is an excellent example of the quality of student Directors love teaching. His skills extend beyond saxophone to include leadership and welding. He is a role model for those below him and is looking forward to being a positive role model for years to come.

Diana Ayon Lancaster High School, Lancaster, CA. Class of 2019. Instrument: Saxophone, Director: Norman Schmidtberger.

Morgan Babineaux Crowley High School, Crowley, Louisiana. Class of 2020. Instrument: Bb Trumpet, Director: Shayla Hebert. Morgan is great. Her drive and perseverance is one of her greatest assets. Thankfully, she still has another year to be with the band.

Srivi Balaji Meridian World School, Round Rock, TX. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: David Cross. Srivi is an amazing percussionist and gifted leader. Her talents have made the entire band better.

William Allen Ball Patrician Academy, Butler, AL. Class of 2019. Instrument: French Horn, Director: Charles Ball. William is an outstanding musician, leader, and mentor for our band program. He attended many band clinics in the state of Mississippi and Alabama throughout the course of high school and is respected by his peers as well as many directors. He is member of HOBY Mississippi, Beta Club, and National Honors Society. William plans to major in Aero Space Engineering.

Anthony Barcio Clear Springs High School, League City, Texas. Class of 2019. Instrument: Alto Saxophone, Director: Lester Williams. 2-year Texas Music Educator's Association All-State Member, 2-year Member TMEA Region 17 All-Region Jazz Band, 4-year Member TMEA Region 17 All-Region Band.

Cooper Barnes Smithville High School, Smithville, Missouri. Class of 2019. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Tom Brockman.

Megan Barrera Calallen High School, Corpus Christi, TX. Class of 2019. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Jeffery Valperts. Megan Barrera has been an outstanding student in our program at Calallen High School. She served as Band President and section leader of our championship percussion section. Megan is planning on continuing in music at the University level.

Connor Bartz Abingdon High School, Abingdon, Virginia. Class of 2019. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Will Shell. 

Maggie Bashore Underwood High School, Underwood, Iowa. Class of 2019. Instrument: Trombone, Director: Stephen F Moore. Maggie is an exceptional student involved in Show Choir, Concert Choir, Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, multiple small ensembles, NHS, and Student Government.

Joseph Benitez Holy Cross Catholic Academy, Amarillo, TX. Class of 2019. Instrument: Alto Saxophone, Director: Emily Grandmaison. Joseph, an accomplished saxophonist and jazz musician, is recognized for his time and talent in the Band Program. He has successfully completed all seven years and setting the standard for excellence in solo and ensemble performance. His leadership abilities have guided his classmates and younger band students to reach their full potential. Joseph is the 2nd recipient in his family to earn this honor. 

Christina Belford Linden Kildare High School, Linden , Texas. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet and Contra-Bass Clarinet, Director: Ron Williams. Christina is a 7 year band student that will be going onto college to play in the Southern Arkansas University Band and majoring in Elementary Education.

Jake Bell Mount Paran Christian School, Kennesaw, GA. Class of 2019. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Billy Flood. Jake has played trumpet for eight years and has studied privately under David Klausman. In high school, he was a member of the concert band (principal), marching band (brass captain), basketball drumline, brass ensemble, and jazz ensemble. He enjoys serving with his local church orchestra and through musical outreach within the community. He is a member of Tri-M (president) and has participated in GMEA District 12 Honor Bands. He is a talented trumpet player, music arranger, and filmmaker. 

Alex Blanche Boulder Creek High School, Anthem, AZ. Class of 2019. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: James O'Halloran. Alex Blanche is an outstanding student leader and musician. He is one of the finest students to graduate from our program.

Britney Nicole Bonner Patrician Academy, Butler, AL. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Charles Ball. Britney is a tremendous student leader. She served as color guard captain, principle clarinet in the wind ensemble and mentor too many band students. She is a member of Beta Club, National Honors Society, and Valedictorian of her graduating class.

Madison Bosak Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Public Schools, Sumner, Nebraska. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trumpet, French Horn, and Bass Guitar, Director: Justin Bosak. Madison Bosak is a multi-talented singer and instrumentalist at our school. She plays multiple instruments and aspires to become a professional musician.

Andrew Bowman Carlyle High School, Carlyle, Illinois. Class of 2019. Instrument: Tenor Saxophone, Director: Jamie Zettler.

Sam Braun Cardston High School, Cardston, Alberta. Class of 2019. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Barrett Swendsen. Sam has been an amazing percussionist and leader within the band this year. He is respected and loved by his peers. I can not think of a better person to receive this honour.

Abigail F. Brown Westside High School, Clear Fork, West Virginia. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Christopher Baber. Abigail is an excellent musician who will be attending Marshall University to study music.

His excellence as a performer and leader earned many groups he was affiliated with to earn high praise, including an Outstanding Performance on his Snare Drum Solo.

Maddison Buckman Central Community School, Elkader, IA. Class of 2019. Instrument: Flute, Director: Larissa Wilming. Maddi is an outstanding flautist and musician. She dedicates time to practicing and is a leader in our school, participating in jazz band, concert band, solo ensemble, and various honor bands all four years of high school. She also received the "Outstanding Performance Award" at 1A Solo Ensemble her senior year and is pursuing a degree, possibly music education, from the University of Iowa after graduation.

Ethan Burch Sheets Memorial Christian School, Lexington, NC. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trombone, Director: Paul R. Sprouse. Ethan Burch is a founding member of the Screamin' Eagles Band that started in 2013 at Sheets Memorial Christian School. Since then, he has been a cornerstone in the lower brass section while displaying a high work ethic and a disciplined approach to learning.

Joshua Cameron North Lakes Academy Upper School, Forest Lake, MN. Class of 2019. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Jennifer A. Dale. Joshua Cameron excels in all areas of percussion: mallets, snare, timpani and especially drum set. He is active in concert, marching, jazz & pep bands and serves as a respected leader in all. Josh excels in vocal music as well and serves as tenor section leader. In addition to his musical excellence, Josh maintains top grades, serving as co-valedictorian of his senior class.

Athena Capes Kimball Area High School, Kimball, MN. Class of 2019. Instrument: Bass Clarinet/Tenor Saxophone, Director: Timothy J Rahkola. Athena is a great student who shares her tremendous passion and enjoyment for music with her classmates and peers. Her hard work, dedication, and commitment to our music program has made her very deserving of this award.

Anna Caraveo Mile High Academy, Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Class of 2020. Instrument: Bassoon, Director: Esther E Avilés. Anna Caraveo is a very talented bassoonist who has been playing since the 5th grade. Anna is currently a Junior and is part of our school's Concert Band, and is also the principal bassoonist for the Colorado Honor Band. She has worked very hard and deserves this award!! :)

She has continued to impress with her work ethic and leadership skills, both as a player and as the drum major of the marching band.

Region VI Band 2019. Kathleen was an extremely dedicated musician - serving various events and ensembles during and after school hours her four years. Joshua Cranford Tahanto Regional Middle/High, Boylston, Massachusetts. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Jeffrey Peer. Joshua is a talented, hardworking musician who is well liked by his peers. He is the backbone of the both the concert and jazz bands; our program is enriched by his presence.

Kaelyn Crews Prairie Home R-5, Prairie Home, Missouri. Class of 2021. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Crystal Mengel. This student has lived in Prairie Home her entire life. She has been a part of the band since she was in 5th grade and often plays saxophone for contest as well as her instrument of clarinet.

Cole Cribbs Holland Hall School, Tulsa, OK. Class of 2019. Instrument: Trombone, Director: Justin Pearse. Cole is a phenomenal musician and has been as asset to the band program here at Holland Hall. His musical talent along with his strong work ethic make him a well deserving recipient of this fine award. 

Emma Catherine Crites Steubenville Catholic Central High School, Steubenville, OH. Class of 2019. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Sam Johnston. Emma Crites is an outstanding musician. She was the marching band drum line captain/section leader, the section leader for the concert band percussion section, and possesses an incredible ability to motivate, teach and direct others in her section. As a natural leader, Emma has the ability to make a statement that settles issues, quiets disagreements and creates a path for others to follow. I nominate Emma for this prestigious award for her calm persona, her teaching ability, and her no-nonsense methodical manner of approaching difficulty. Congratulations, Emma, you stand in the face of adversity and stare it down; you look left and right and find no peers because you are an outstanding musician and leader. God bless you in your future endeavors and no that you are part of the foundation of the Crusader Band. 

Lennon Cruz Northview High School, Covina, CA. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Robin Gin. Lennon is the clarinet section leader of the marching band, and principal clarinet of the Wind Symphony. This student has demonstrated a high level of musical talent and dedication to the program and is an incredible role model to his peers.

Damien Damron Western Reserve Schools, Collins, OH. Class of 2019. Instrument: Alto Saxophone, Director: Mary Ana Hicks. Damien has played Alto Saxophone, Quads, Drum Set, and Guitar as part of the band program. He plans on continuing his studies at the college level.

Jonias Datrice Port Barre High School, Port Barre, Louisiana. Class of 2019. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Dante Boyd. Student has lived in Southern Louisiana most of his life.He is well liked by faculty and students.

Kristie Davis Elizabeth high School, Elizabeth, Colorado. Class of 2019. Instrument: Baritone/Euphonium, Director: Johnathan Doerr. Kristie Davis is a shining star in the Elizabeth band program. She will lead a life inspiring others around her.

Lauren Denney Munising Middle/High School, Munising, MI. Class of 2019. Instrument: Flute, Director: Michelle Gaunt. Lauren is an exceptional flute player who has been involved in regional honors bands, solo and ensemble, and has first chair for two years. She is an immensely talented student and a true asset to any music program.

Zoe DeVries F.J. Reitz High School, Evansville, Indiana. Class of 2019. Instrument: Euphonium, Director: Alex Grimm. Zoe is a strong leader that excels in the highest levels on the Euphonium. She was selected for the IBA All-State Band in 2018 & 2019, made the honor band, and was principal chair. Zoe shows true compassion to other students while being a strong leader for the entire band!

Marshall DeWees Life High School-Waxahachie , Waxahachie , TX . Class of 2020. Instrument: Tuba, Director: Paul Martin. Marshall has shown all the qualities of being a leader and servant all year. His love for music is exemplary and takes the band under his wing to try to make it better! Very deserving of this prestigious award!

Juan H. Diaz Merrill F. West High School , Tracy, CA. Class of 2019. Instrument: Guitar and Percussion , Director: Jonathan Raman. Juan H. Diaz is a talented jazz guitarist and a solid percussionist. Juan, nominated by his peers, led our Wolf Pack Marching Band as Drum Major for the 2018-2019 season. All above all his accomplishments, Juan is a great person to work with and to know.

Susana Aguirre Duncan Gem State Adventist Academy, Caldwell, Idaho. Class of 2019. Instrument: Saxophone, Director: Cecilia M. Simmons. Susi has been a pivotal member of the GSAA concert band all four years of her high school career. She is known for her dedication to excellence in all things, her strong leadership skills within the band, and her strength of character. Susi never backs down from a challenge and is a positive influence to her peers both in band and schoolwide. She was integral in helping found the GSAA jazz ensemble in her sophomore year. Her stellar musicianship, sense of humor, and leadership will be greatly missed.

Took part in several Parish and District Honor Bands. He served as Band Captain and Drum Major. He is on second year with the DCI group Louisiana Stars based out of Lafayette, Louisiana.

Makayla Edmission Fordland High School, Fordland, Missouri. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Shawn Vomund. Makayla is the last senior in band out of her class of 40 students. Throughout her 7 years in band, she has remained loyal to the program through constant change in directors both good and bad because she loves playing her instrument in band. She is the last senior in the band, but upholds what it is to be a true bands-person more than anyone I've ever met.

Victoria Elizabeth Guerra Caruthers High School, Fresno, CA. Class of 2019. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Richard Hembree. Victoria was the Band Council President at Caruthers High School as well as the Uniform Manager. She lead the trumpet section for two years. She played the National Anthem at her high school graduation ceremony.

Charles Ellis Stowe High School, Stowe, VT. Class of 2019. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Jane Lambert. Charlie is truly deserving of this award. He goes above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis helping other students, demonstrating leadership, outstanding musical skills, he exemplifies all the qualities of this award!

Neida Jakeline Figon Southern Lee High School, Sanford, NC. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Angela Matthews. Neida Figon is the child of Diana Rodriguez and Cesar Figon. She doubles on clarinet and oboe. She is the clarinet section leader in band and is an excellent leader. She is calm and collected under fire, no matter what the circumstances. She is involved in multiple student organizations on campus other than band. She is a valuable asset to the music program at SLHS.

Christy Finley is an exceptional trumpet player who was section leader as well as brass captain. She has participated in District III Honor Band, Iberia Parish Honor Band, and LSU's Stately Oaks Honor Band. Christy was also selected to be a part of Iberia Parish Gifted and Talented music program.

She also advanced to the prestigious Texas UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest in 2019 on a Grade I Oboe Solo.

Paige Greenia Missisquoi Valley Union High School, Swanton, Vt. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Trombone, Director: Aaron Garceau. Paige is a dedicated, motivated student who has been a member of the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble and Pit Orchestra. While her main instrument is clarinet she took up the trombone helping out in a weak section of the band while still mastering her clarinet upon which she qualified and participated in our All State Music Festival, All New England Music Festival and Vermont Youth Orchestra for her entire high school tenure. Though she elected to enroll in the early college program she continued to come into the school and play with both high school bands on trombone whilst attending and applying to colleges in order to study music.

Jordy Guldman Truckee High School, Truckee, CA. Class of 2019. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Jesse Steele. Jordy has no equal when it comes to his playing ability, his expansive improvisational vocabulary and his mature approach to daily rehearsal. His deep understanding of theory, both in practical application and in his numerous original compositions is obvious. As a Freshman he was an extremely strong player, and through non-stop hard work, dedication, and goal oriented focus I have seen major strides with each passing year. He is truly one of the strongest high school musicians I have ever heard. He will be attending Oberlin to study music.

Reneé Hare Douglas MacArthur High School, San Antonio, Texas. Class of 2019. Instrument: Alto Saxaophone , Director: Evan Berry. Reneé Hare was a four-year district band member in an incredibly competitive saxophone audition class. She graduated as a multi-year section leader, a drum major, and one of the top musicians in her class. As a drum major, she put the band before herself by taking back conducting and metronome duties despite her senior status.

She was our first Drum Major to lead our high school marching band in over 10 years. She has been an instrumental part to rebuilding our music department at our school. Under her leadership all music programs have grown in attendance, and even our instrumentation in all bands has expanded. She conducted our concert band at Large Group Festival. Marisa has been recognized by both students and staff as our outstanding band member this year! She is entering college in the fall as a Music Education major, and we all know she will do great things for our future in music.

Michael has made the NCDA District Honor Band 6 times. He has been an incredible band student for our program here in Collinsville. Michael has also been a terrific performer in our marching band for the past 4 years. He is always prepared and can play his part in the music at the highest level. Abigail McNeal Cotopaxi High School, Cotopaxi, CO. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Jennifer Giangiulio. Abigail joined our school in 9th grade and hadn't played the clarinet since 5th grade. She stayed after school and practiced really hard until she caught up. Throughout her years at Cotopaxi, she was selected to the Southern Colorado Honor Band 3 times, and consistently received 1st division ratings at Solo & Ensemble. She is our 1st chair player, and is always happy and fun to be around. She is an amazing leader!!

She has been playing the piano for nine years, with 8 of them under the instruction of Dr. Irina Cunev in addition to playing bassoon for 4 years under Dr. Jerry Voorhees. Katie plays piccolo in Albany’s marching band and bassoon in their concert band, and has played bassoon with various honor bands throughout high school, including Southeastern’s Invitational, LMEA All-State, District, and Parish honor bands. In addition, Katie has played with the Louisiana Youth Orchestras for six years. She participates in the Livingston Parish Talented Arts Programs for Music, Visual Arts, and Theatre. Katie is also involved with The New Octavians community theatre troupe. In her free time, Katie enjoys tending to her 48 houseplants and her pet cat.

Shayne is a sophomore band student who has excelled at playing trumpet and mellophone. He is currently serving as my drum major. He recently auditioned and was chosen to be a member of the Seattle Cascades Drum Corp even though he has never participated in marching band since we have a small district without a marching organization. His outstanding drive and initiative has set him apart from other musicians in the program. He is outstanding and motivational.

Courtney Sawyers Bluefield High School, Bluefield, WV. Class of 2019. Instrument: Saxophone, French Horn, Director: Nick Hinkle. Courtney Sawyers was the 2019 recipient from Bluefield High School in Bluefield WV. Courtney was a 4 year member of the Marching and Concert Bands. Courtney participated in multiple regional honor bands and served as the Drum Major in her senior year.

Anna Schultz Flathead High School, Kalispell, Montana. Class of 2019. Instrument: Flute, Director: David Johnke. Anna earned the a chair in the Montana All-State Orchestra freshman and sophomore years, and All-State Band Junior and Senior Years. She all earned a chair in the NAfME All-Northwest Band in 2017 and 2019. She earned Superiors at State Solo & Ensemble on both her flute and alto saxophone solos four years in a row. Anna was a section leader the last two years, a patient teacher, and a positive role model.

Julia Schulze St. Margaret's Episcopal School, San Juan Capistrano, CA. Class of 2021. Instrument: Alto Saxophone / Bassoon, Director: Chris Carbajal. Julia began playing the alto saxophone for St. Margaret's Episcopal School even before she was a St. Margaret's student, taking a summer school jazz session between her 6th and 7th grade years. She has played alto saxophone in the Middle School Jazz Band, Concert Band and Coffee House Cabaret Band (commercial music). She has also played in the pit for Children of Eden, The Drowsy Chaperone and Into the Woods. During the 2018-2019 school year, she played the bassoon and alto sax in the Concert Band. In addition to her musical studies, she is involved in academics and tennis.

Sarah has been a member of our band program for 4 years and was drum major for the past 2 years. Sarah will be attending the University of Georgia and plans on being a member of the Redcoat Marching Band!

Harrison Seidel Chisholm Trail Academy, Keene, Texas. Class of 2021. Instrument: Tuba, Director: Conner Mason. Harrison is a dedicated instrumentalist student. He is often the first one in to practice, and is always willing to help with the equipment for performances. Harrison is always ready for a new challenge and is not afraid to put in the work to learn anything that is put in front of him.

Hazel has always had and incredible attitude and drive to make herself and the other around her better musicians. He was also a all region band member and ATSSB Area qualifier. He qualified for TSSEC 5 times and received 2 State Medals. Cade was also a tremendous leader serving our band as Drum Major both his Jr. and Sr. year

Delanie is the percussion section leader of the Ganado High School Pride of the Tribe.She a concert bassoonist who always goes above an beyond.She has a dry but humorous personality, and is a leader amongst her peers at school.

Travis Slaughter Rector High School, Rector, Arkansas. Class of 2020. Instrument: Tuba, Director: Benjamin Mullen. Travis Slaughter is an exceptional tuba play and an absolute asset to our band program as well as our school. I choose him for this award for his diligence, talent, and outstanding character. Cullen Smith Western Heights High School, Oklahoma City, OK. Class of 2019. Instrument: Double bass, Director: Lane Folds . Cullen Smith started out playing clarinet and was an alternate marcher on the football field, but quickly became a valued member and a Double Bass player. In his senior year, Cullen took concurrent music courses such as theory I and jazz ensemble at OCCC. Because of all this experience He became better at his respective instrument and continues to grow each and everyday. He loves his high school band with all his heart and says “Once a jet always a jet”! Cullen plans to go to OCCC and then to SWOSU for music therapy to help the world grow with music.

William Stone Jr. Middletown Area High School, Middletown, PA. Class of 2019. Instrument: Tenor Saxophone, Director: Samuel K. Fisher. William served as drum major during his junior and senior years. William participated in PMEA District 7 and PMEA Region V Band.

Uridian Reyes-Suarez McGregor High School, McGregor, TX. Class of 2019. Instrument: Flute, Director: Tim Grace. Uridian is a three year member of the ATSSB 3A All-State band. She has received superior ratings for her solo and ensemble performances at the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest. She is small and mighty and takes her music very seriously. She has been an amazing leader in our program and has inspired others to step up as well

Jennifer Tedesco Hazen Union School, Hardwick, Vermont. Class of 2019. Instrument: Flute & Piccolo, Director: Jennifer O'Neill. Jennifer has served as a member of the Hazen band since 7th grade. For her senior year she has been the principal flute and student director of the Hazen Union Wildcat Wind Ensemble. She has led the pep band and the parade band. Her dedication, positive leadership, patience, and outstanding participation in many music activities is admirable. Jen will be attending Sacred Heart University in Connecticut.

Andrew Tellefson Spooner High School, Spooner, Wisconsin. Class of 2019. Instrument: Tenor sax, flute. Andrew has been playing tenor sax for all of middle school and high school.  He is a member of the concert band, pep band, and marching band in Spooner, Wisconsin.  Each year, he participates at district and state Solo Ensemble, where he consistently earns high ratings.  During his junior year, he taught himself how to play flute, and he switches between his two instruments, depending on the instrumentation of the particular song being played.  He has been an integral part of the band since day one, and he will be sorely missed. 

Karena Thammasene Arvada High School, Arvada, Colorado. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Cory Goshorn. Karena is an outstanding Clarinetist and leader. Karena has served as the principal clarinetist of Arvada High School Wind Ensemble. As Drum Major she helped lead the marching band to CBA State for the first time in several years. Through her years as a student, Karena has demonstrated the ability to motivate and direct others outside of her section, as well as within. Karena is an exceptional student who makes band a warm welcoming place for all to share. She is very deserving of the prestigious award because of her positivity, commitment, leadership, and musicianship. Karena will be pursuing in Music Education at the University of Northern Colorado. 

Jensen Thomassie De La Salle High School, New Orleans, Louisiana. Class of 2019. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Duncan Pray. Jensen has been a huge help to the band over his 5 years. He took up composition, and has written several cadances and pieces for the band. I'm excited to see how far he goes.

Taffi Tingley Putnam County R-1 High School, UNIONVILLE, MO. Class of 2019. Instrument: French Horn, Director: Michelle Booth. Taffi Renea Tingley is a 2019 graduate who has made a large impact on our school's band program. Taffi plays french horn and mellophone. She is a great leader and an exemplary performer. She plans to continue her education to become an elementary school teacher.

Hannah Tripp Mansfield High School , Mansfield, MO. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Autumn Bennett. Hannah Tripp was a phenomenal clarinet player and two-year drum major of the Mansfield High School program. She received numerous drum major captions and led the band to multiple first place finishes in marching competition. She exemplified the Mansfield tradition and spirit while also maintaining a high level of musicianship throughout her high school career. Hannah was also valedictorian of her class. 

Henry Tsekerides Cold Spring Harbor High School, Cold Spring Harbor, NY. Class of 2019. Instrument: Snare Drum, Director: Dr. Gerald L. Felker. Henry is the most talented rudimental drummer and drum set player that I have ever encountered at the high school level. He was a member of the NY State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All State Wind Ensemble. He has also been chosen to play drum set in a prestigious group, Nassau Suffolk Jazz Ensemble, here on Long Island. Additionally, he has been a consistent member of the Nassau County All County Music Festival each January playing in the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble.

Lauren Raschelle Tucker Baker School, Baker, Florida. Class of 2019. Instrument: Bass Clarinet, Director: Stuart Campbell. Lauren served as our Drum Major and Band President her Senior year and field section leader previously. As Drum Major she recieved superior ratings at the Emerald Coast Marching Festival. She earned her place in the Okaloosa County Honor band multiple years and First Chair her Senior Year, where she was also First Chair in the Florida All State Honor Band. She participated and earned First Chair in SEUS Honor Band at Troy University multiple years.

Olivia Tucker is a brilliant and talented student whose dedication and integrity have been an inspiration to our band for years. Olivia's name is synonymous with excellence at Quanah High School and it has been an honor to have shared these years with her.

She went through many trials and errors as a young Drum Major, but continued to work an was able to achieve Best in Class at competition in 2018

Anthony Varbaro Mahopac High School, Mahopac, NY. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Richard Williams. Anthony Varbaro is a strong musician and helpful leader. Anthony served as the concert master of the Mahopac High School Symphonic Band as well as the drum major of the Marching Band. In addition to his accomplishments as a clarinetist, he also played saxophone in the Jazz Program, tuba in the Marching Band and Concert Band. Anthony set a great example for our younger students and is poised to continue making music for the rest of his life.

Matthew Villagorda Washington Wilkes High School, Washington, GA. Class of 2019. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Emme L. Hines. Matthew has been one of the best students I have taught in my career. When I came to WW he was in the 7th grade and knew nothing about the instrument. He was a terrible player. Time and hard work changed him into one of my best musicians.

Kyra served as the Drum Major for the Tanner High Marching Band is an accomplished clarinetist, and has participated in several university honor bands. David has been involved in Concert Band for the last four years and has demonstrated excellent musicianship skills throughout his high school experience. Clayton Williams Allen D. Nease High School, Ponte Vedra, Florida. Class of 2019. Instrument: Trombone, Director: Anthony Cananzi. Clayton Williams is deserving of this award because of his selfless contribution to the Nease BandProgram. Clayton works extremely hard, is a talented musician, and is an extremely positive influence tohis peers. Clayton has spent his years at Nease in the marching band, symphonic band, wind ensemble,and jazz ensemble and I could not think of a more deserving recipient.
